After several failed installs,(different faults each time), I changed my old 'Creative' CD drive for a new 'Philips' 5232 CD drive. check my blog Once you have scanned for viruses, you can also perform a malware scan. Next option is to borrow a perfect OEM install CD and use your own sticker tag to register the install. I usually take the suspect drive, put it in another machine, and reformat it there.
