Then I had to reinstall Norton Internet Security 2009 and MS Office (after first carefully deleting all the related folders in both the Program Files and Program Files\Common Files folder as havent added all the 'goodies' yet.

Explorer.exe was copied from the ......system32\dllcache folder (to NO effect).
